Cars in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a man who found a car in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then found multiple other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say preliminary tests show the substance was likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; officials are not yet aware of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities announced they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the public for information.

A senior official stated the incident left him speechless and had to be solved quickly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of migrant background in five years prior.
